IPhone replace your car key

According to the specialized site AppleInsider, the Californian company has filed a patent that would use the iPhone to locate, open the door or start a car.

Three steps :

First step: find the car. You go in the evening, but I can not remember where you parked the car. A look at the iPhone and a simple push of a button dedicated to the location, a map shows the exact parking space where your vehicle. The system is relatively simple: once parked, it launches the application to register its location. A few hours later, the smartphone find the signal when parking and directs the driver to the vehicle: the trick. Note that this step is not particularly innovative: many applications not developed by Apple, already exist for this feature.

Second step: find the keys. Definitely very head in the air, you also lost your keys. Do not panic, the iPhone will soon open the doors of your car after the famous patent. For this, the vehicle communicates with your smartphone using Bluetooth technology, already used for hands-free kits and wireless headsets for example. Specifically, the iPhone sends a simple signal authorization to open the doors to your car. If no mention is made on the security of this system in the patent, without doubt it is possible to imagine that it will take a password to confirm the identity of the owner.

Third step: start the car. This time you're sitting in the car, but as the keys are not found, it is the iPhone that will start the engine. If one believes the patent filed by Apple, the technology is the same as the previous step.

But the iPhone could replace the onboard computer in the projects of the American brand: turn on the radio, interior lights, adjust the seat or open the sunroof are all uses that would be able to make the smartphone Apple. Importantly, all these options could be customized: the settings are specific to each terminal. For example, when the driver gets in the car, the seat, mirrors and radio are automatically adjusted according to the habits of the smartphone user.
